FAL & the Surgical Assistant

Ideally candidates must have attained a recognised qualification and certificate as a surgical assistant. Such qualifications being:

  • English National Board N77;
  • advanced scrub practitioner;
  • or surgical care practitioner; and
  • any other certificate issued by a national authority which FAL recognises meets the qualifying criteria for surgical assistants.

A candidate’s education and ability will be screened against the framework of all known specialised courses. Our clientele consist of NHS and private hospitals and candidates will be recruited to assist in different types of surgical procedures. Candidates must be flexible to attend assignments and assist in a wide range of surgical procedures.
